Mercedes-Benz
Service Talk
Have a question about servicing your Mercedes-Benz? Chances
are we have the answer.
Q. With
gas prices so high, what can I do to get the most miles per gallon
in my Mercedes-Benz?
A. There
are several measures that you can take to optimize your fuel
mileage. For starters, simple things that you can do such as
checking your tire pressure regularly which is every second fuel
fill up. The ideal tire pressure for your vehicle is posted on
the inside of your fuel access door.
Also, eliminating quick starts and stops, and high speeds, removing
excess weight such as items that may be in your trunk. It is
also important to use the recommended grade of oil, and change
your air and fuel filters at the recommended intervals. Finally,
we offer a fuel system flush and performance oil change which
are specialized services that have proven to optimize fuel efficiency.
For more information about these services, feel free to check
our website or give us a call.
Q. Recently,
I have really been watching my finances and I have been told
that I can get my car serviced at an independent garage for less
money than the dealership. What are your thoughts on that?
A. This
is not always the case. For example, maintenance items such as
oil changes, alignments and other preventative maintenances are
performed at a discounted rate. Also, not many independent service
providers use genuine Mercedes-Benz parts. They may advertise “OEM
parts used” but that is not the same as Genuine Mercedes-Benz.
Finally, the dealership has the most up to date service information,
repair procedures, diagnostic equipment, a 50 state warranty,
and a complimentary loaner car. Keep in mind that when servicing
your vehicle at the dealer you get the piece of mind that factory
trained technicians with the highest skill level are performing
the repairs on your vehicle.
